Many clients choose to have their eyelashes or eyebrows tinted to add semi-permanent definition and colour that lasts for 4-6 weeks. It is a quick and painless procedure that is suitable for most people, providing you pass a patch test at least 24 hours prior to the treatment. This is essential to check for any sensitivity to the tinting products. However, you cannot have a tinting treatment if you suffer from any of the following:
Hyper-sensitive skin or sensitivity to eye make-up
Eye disorder e.g. conjunctivitis, stye
Inflammation or swelling around the eye area
Skin disease in the eye area e.g. impetigo
Excessively dry/flaky skin or cuts around the eye
What are the benefits of tinting?
- Tinting is ideal for clients with fair eyelashes or eyebrows, as it enhances and emphasises them without the daily use of mascara or eyebrow pencil.
- It is also a popular treatment to have before going on holiday, as you may not wish to wear mascara in hot weather in case it streaks or runs.
- For those who do are allergic to mascara, or do not have the time to apply it, tinting is a way of colouring the eyelashes or eyebrows for 4-6 weeks.
- Those who are sporty or swim regularly may also find it more convenient.
